Villa La Ferdinanda, Artimino

History of the Villa di Artimino

It is said that Grand Duke Ferdinando I de ‘Medici, during one of his usual hunting trips, was amazed by a large hillock on Mount Albano; a highrise contoured by woods and agricultural land, over which it is possible to contemplate while being absorbed, the undulating and jagged borders of the countless hills of Artimino.

Thus he expressed the wish to build, in such a beloved place, a magnificent villa for himself and his court.

Begining in 1600, built in just 4 years by the architect Bernardo Buontalenti, this outstanding Medici villa, La Ferdinanda, also often called Villa dei cento camini (the villa of one hundred fireplaces), is still visible on the hillside for its characteristic and enchanting series of fountains of various shapes and its unique facade.

Great frescoes, ancient wineries and large gardens with breathtaking views make the Villa a unique and refined stage to celebrate exquisite wedding receptions.

Location for every kind of ceremony

A magical place with an eternal seventeenth-century charm, characterized by countless spaces that can accommodate, an incredible number of guests.

The villa is also one of the few structures in the area, which can also celebrate ceremonies that aren’t religious in nature. A truly exclusive and elegant experience, immersed in a fascinating natural setting.

Pyrotechnic shows, performances of grandeur; or romantic dinners set in the large garden, while enjoying a cool spring sunset.
